Good news, Trader Joe’s fans: The viral mini canvas totes that took the internet by storm earlier this year are back for a limited time.
These chic $2.99 bags, available in green, navy, and yellow, have become a must-have accessory. But just like the first drop, they won’t last long, so you must act fast if you want to snag one.
The mini-tote craze started in February when the specialty grocery chain introduced them as part of an effort to promote reusable bags and reduce single-use plastics.
The simple, stylish design quickly caught on, and soon TikTok and Instagram were flooded with posts from thrilled shoppers showing off their new totes.
The frenzy led to long lines at stores and bags flying off the shelves within days of their release
Fast forward to today, and Trader Joe’s fans are already gearing up for round two of the mini tote madness. The new drop, available nationwide starting on September 18 and offers the same compact design—perfect for carrying essentials with a touch of eco-friendly flair.
But be prepared for the lines.
In some locations, the bags are so in demand that stores have set up special tote drops at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to manage the crowds. Plus, some stores limit customers to just two bags per person.
And there’s definitely a demand. During the initial launch, some shoppers who couldn’t get their hands on one resorted to paying up to $1,000 to resellers on platforms like eBay. Current listings are priced at upwards of $100.
Trader Joe’s has since condemned the practice of reselling, but that hasn’t stopped people from trying to profit off the hype.
